Visit Visa For My Wifes Sister

Featured Replies

Hello all,

My wife has been the in UK for nearly and year now on a settlement visa. We are looking into the possibility of her sister along with her husband and daughter to visit the UK to visit us. Both are working in Thailand and don't have any bad history (criminal records etc).

So far looking at the different visa's that can be applied for we are not sure which would be best suitable. Would the fact that my wife is living in the UK already have any impact on there visa chances (i.e not have to apply for just a tourist visa)?

Hopefully they would be able to visit for 2 or 3 weeks, if so we would be willing to act as sponsors during they trip here. If anybody has any experiences with something like this or can offer any help that would be great.

Thank you for your help.

Regards

As it seems that your sister and brother in law have a settled life in Thailand, ie a job, then they can prove their reason to return, then I don't see any reason why they shouldn't be granted a family visit visa to visit you and your wife.

The fact that they are only intend visiting for what you and I would regard as a normal visit length, rather than the full six months that some people regard as the normal, can only help.

Good luck.

My sister-in-laws parents and her younger sister had absolutely no problems getting family visit visas in very similar circumstances earlier this year.
