My wife and I want to retire in Thailand. We are both Australian citizens in our fifties.

Can someone please advise if we both need 800,000 baht or equivalent income in a Thai bank account.

What is the easiest way to get the visa.

Thanks in advance.

Only one needs to submit financials - the other can obtain a non immigrant O visa on the basis of being spouse of person with the retirement extension of stay and then get dependent extensions of stay to match the spouse retirement extensions of stay.

You can either qualify in Oz showing account there and police report/medical or obtain extension of stay from a non immigrant O visa between 60-90 days after arrival in Thailand using money in Thai bank account for 60 days. Both are easy.
