Yes, the problem is all mine, because I don't like Thai girls, or, better, I really dislike them, or, more frankly, I don't even see them as women. My idea of women is on the other side of the universe, so far from Thai ladies.

I moved here not so long ago, just 2 months, after 3 years spent in another "asian heaven for men" aka Korea, and after many trips to other asian countries.

Now, I have recently met a western female here, and we started talking about the topic. It seems women here suffer a lot from this, seems they are quite invisible. Some say they could walk naked in downtown and still be invisible to most of the men (at least western men).

My God, I would notice them!

This is not the problem to me....The problem is:

Where are them?

I couldn't see them.

Ok, i hear you, I am a newcomer, I need to spend months here to get used to the city, but.. i walk a lot everyday, i have been in many crowded corners of the city. I tried to look for some western girl, and i mean, obviously, single girls, living here as i do, who enjoy all the great things bangkok can give us, and can stand all the other terrible things bangkok offers to us on a daily basis.

I saw many beautiful, even gorgeous western girls, but.. u see.....they were all tourists, no doubt about this, all with their regular wonderful western boyfriend/husband (most of them looking as Scandinavian people, but... maybe u r right...I am Italian, what do I know about this world???), very happy to shop, to have a sightseeing, and romantic evenings on a boat cruise. And thats' all.

Frankly, I couldn't see any single girl here.

I even menaged to spot some western girl with a Thai boyfriend (which is totally ok, really). And the thing just made me depressed.

It is like: "ok, then where did I go wrong?".

So, to me, the bottom line is:

Life here could be hard for western girls, I am sure it is for lots of them, as I do believe what's written in many forums, but sure it is even so hard for certain guys

who don't go with prostitutes

who don't wanna go with them , only because (sometimes) this is all Bangkok asks us to do

who don't really understand the meaning of paying for an hour or two of low low low quality sex, with absolutely plain and poorly educated girls (most of the times)

who don't like thai girls, even the "normal" ones

who don't want to hear "hallo, handsome man! where u go?" anymore. enough is enough.

To me...(but then again, I might be wrong) it seems there are only couples out there, straight or lesbian or gay. no singles.

Well, maybe, a couple of times I saw girls alone, but, frankly, I couldn't even try to socialize: their looks, they seemed so upset, so pissed off, maybe they were just thinking "here is another bloody sugar daddy, another guy who enjoys the sexual adventures in patpong and nana" and that's all. end of the story.

So, I live here, I have a standard of life that.... well, it rocks; (I am sure most westerners here have the same situation, because Thailand is so cheap and life here is quite ok for many of us): I could never have anything like that in Europe, not at my age (30), not at age 65...even if I work like a Korean for the rest of my life....and, surprise surprise, no female partner to share all this with.

Ok, no need to hurry to have a relationship with a western girl here?

Why? because I don't like the most beautiful girls in the world: thai ladies!!! (yes, Indeed I am in the wrong country maybe the taxi driver was right.)

There is more, when i put out that i really don't find thai girls attractive....I even hear things like this: "oh, then u r gay, u like thai boy" (see, not only some Thai are polite...but also ...their ego is boundless; if I am gay, then of course I must like Thai men, not westerners......).

Ok, this sounded slightly bitter, maybe, but I can tell you for sure that sometimes pressure here is annoying: u wanna know how many times i took a taxi to go to work and they insisted to take me to patpong? I am starting to think that one day, when i'll put my bts card to pass the gate, a signal will come out: "ok, man! u go patpong!"

This is a stereotype I'd like to stress on: it is absolutely not true that western men, western young guys (not losers, not sexual maniac, not spoiled, not perverted), western nice guys are here just for the abundance of easy thai girls to grab.

I am not blind, however: i have seen the fat, perverted 55 years old guy hand in hand with two teenagers (male or female): well, he is a rotten pig and his presence here shouldn't spoil the image of the rest of us.

i am sure there are nice western guys looking for western partners here, because they just feel more attracted; it could be hard for us to find them because they are used to see the pigs i mentioned above.

Well, i am a nice guy, i really think so, i just don't like thai girls and reasons are all mine, of course.

I'd like to know where all the good, simple, nice, smart and outgoing western girls are in Bangkok.

I would add: I wouldn't mind if some romance comes, of course, I would like it. but I am absolutely not in a hurry. As said above, sharing the good things this city can offer, would just be nice, so nice.
