Thai Nz Dual Citizenship Travel - Which Passport?

Featured Replies

I've a question some of you may know the answer to.

My wife has a Thai passport, and also a NZ passport as she is a NZ citizen now.

If she goes to Thailand for an extended time, 1 year or so, would she:

1/. leave NZ on the NZ passport and arrive in Thailand on the Thai one and then

2/. leave Thailand on the Thai passport and arrive in NZ on the NZ one, on her eventual return.

?

Wot yer think?

Cheers

Coss

Yes.

Use Thai passport for entering and leaving Thailand and NZ passport for entering and leaving NZ.

It may be necessary to show both passports to the airline when checking in to show that no visas are required.
