Pheww i give up.You would think ferangs were the winners. All that fuss to spend money here.

Any country granting a Visa (extension in this case) for a 12 month period is going to want a show of funds to support one self with, Ive no idea how anyone could live here for a year on 800k single let alone "married" for 400k.

You are aware Thailand does not have an issue with dual citizenship? Did you wife actually renounce her Thai citizenship to Thailand? It does not sound so if she has valid ID card. So she should be on a home register, obtain current Thai passport and make a trip and return using that (actually an old passport could likely be used, or even ID card, to return if she has one). Once she is Thai and living in Thailand the Thai wife option would be open to you.

If your country does not forbid (you did not answer) children should also obtain dual passports from Thai Consulate in your home country (register birth at that Embassy as first step). Are you all planning to remain in Thailand forever? Or is this just an extended trip? We took your first post as a marriage to Thai (which it is) but you did not mention these other factors (which changes things a lot from what it appeared). People can most likely help you here if they know the details as many have been in similar situations.

I know people who have Canadian and UK citizenship so that part of it should be ok. Op says she has Thai ID card so even if she has entered on a Canadian passport couldn't she just show the Thai ID card at immigration? If it's expired, a trip to the Amphur where she's registered and she can get a new one.

Then do the marriage extension for the OP, multi re-entry permit, go back to Canada and get the kids Thai passports, then it's just papa who needs to jump through the hoops every year and report every 90 days. It would be quite a bit of messing about on the first instance to get the wife and kids sorted out, but thereafter, would make life a lot easier.

Not all countries allow dual citizenship so that was why I asked. As for having ID card if she entered on a foreign passport that is how she will be treated until a new entry is made as a Thai. She can easily extend one year at a time with ID/Home register but that will not help husband and children if she is not considered here as a Thai (and from his posts Immigration does not consider her entry status to be Thai).
