Name Question

Featured Replies

Hi, everyone!

I'm kinda trying to get to know someone (a girl), but I don't know her name. Yes, yes, I will go talk to her very soon, but as of now all I know is that I heard someone call her "Nunek" (or something like that). I'm not sure if that's even a Thai name/nickname, but I figured I'd ask you guys if you could help me with this:

1. Is it a Thai name? If not, do you know in what countries that name is used?

2. Is it a nickname or a proper name?

3. If it's a nickname, what might the real name be?

I tried Google, but didn't have much luck.

I'll talk to her pretty soon, but I'm just trying to get some info before I do.

Thanks.

I think, maybe, you misheard it, and it was nudnick.

I agree with Shotime, it was missheard and is in fact Sputnik. I very fine name from the Pattaya region.

Bit of a shot in the dark Whoami, my ex-wife had 3 different legal names and just as many nicknames in the 6 years we were married, she seemed to change her name as often as I change my underwear.

As if your going to get an answer to your question in this forum. Why don't you go and ask her,

What are you a boy or a man?

If that is her as your avatar, I'd have to go with Noneck.

Possibly, nonickers.

i would say its possibly "Nuu-lek" thats make more sense for the nickname. and its mean little sister something like that. :jap:

If you tell us where she is, we can find out for you

Hence the divorce. :D

noo-dek - go away

Nong Lek ?

Nong Lek ?

Agreed.

How nong (young), can be dangerous territory.

Or as in little mouse as opposed to the other girl in the office who's name is Nuu but who is bigger.

Is she tall and shaped like a beer bottle? Or look like a giraffe?

Maybe it's Longneck?

I think you have accumulated sufficient possibilties here. Go now, silly one, and try each suggestion slowly, and when she smiles, report back who was right.

Noolek or small rat??...

I met her last night. Her real name is Samantha.

She's good ......... but I've had better.

"I heard someone call her "Nunek" (or something like that)."

Could it be "nenek" ?.......which means "granny" in malaysian / indonesian

Think the term you looking for is A Man or a Mouse ..but you are right he might be just a Boy whistling.gif

No. She's hi-so Thai-Chinese. She paid me.

I won't say how much as I don't wish to make you envious.

The OP is trolling (I hope). If not, he will get some serious problems in the future.

I haven't heard that name in years. We used to call someone "Sputniak" many years ago.

This Thai woman I've known for a few years has only changed her name twice. Then she had to go through all the hassle of revising her ho ID and whatever else because some fortune teller told her that her old name was too "strong" for her. I forget the reason for the first name change, but that's what everybody calls her. Go figure.

I would say the name is, Sputnik.

Because like the satellite, this thread`s going to go around and around in circles through endless space and never get anywhere.

Funny isn't it? The fortune teller says your namer is no longer lucky so they change it, change passports, change id card, change this and that.

Spending too much time worrying about what the fortune teller and Mum says and too little time listening to the husband brought her a whole load of bad luck.
