To other USA citizens living in Thailand. I have been trying to connect online to Social Security for 3 days to no avail. Keeps saying their server does not respond.

Anyone else had this problem. Tried through AIS on my mobile and regular internet through True. Cannot get though

Have you tried sending an email to the Manila office, which is the one that serves U.S. residents living in Asia? We have found they normally respond to emails with 1 business day, although we haven't tried to contact them lately. Perhaps you could call them if it's urgent. Here is the contact info:

Try using a VPN. The site may be blocked from where you are trying to view it.

Received this from Manila. How do u set up a VPN??

t looks like your internet provider has been put in the blocked list by SSA.

Your e-mail came with an alert from our server that it is a potential phishing message.

Have you tried to access the site using another internet provider?

Sincerely,

Pamela S. Palma

That's right -- it didn't work with the Thai ISP address, but the moment I activated the proxy server it worked like a charm. The proxy server does slow down the internet, but it can be a lifesaver sometimes. Don't ask me how to set it up -- that's something the IT dept. (Hubby) handles. All I know is that I can watch Desperate Housewives on ABC.com with it!

Dirty rotten shame that the Thai authorities are blocking US pensioners from accessing the SSA website to check on benefits.

Don't they know that this is a steady source of income for Noi, Porn, Poom, Tik, Ja and Ga?

I just went to the site seems ok

SSA

Do you know anyone who uses the new SS debit card to get their funds. I hear by March 2013 there will only be 2 ways to get paid, by bank DD and new debit card.
