Unless you live in a chicken coop or work in a slaughterhouse for chickens, you don’t need to worry, not for a while, at least. If and when the virus mutates to a type that is transmittable from one human to another, the scientists will quickly have to design a vaccine, just like they do for every year’s regular flu virus. Let the scientists do the worrying! It is estimated that if a bird flu pandemic breaks out, about 3% of the population will die. That leaves you plus another 96 in a hundred as survivors.
