Army Busts Major Drug Dealer

The Region 4 Army's Drug Suppression unit has busted a major drug trafficker, confiscating large amounts of narcotics and more than 10 million baht in circulation in the drug-trafficking ring.

Fourth Army Region Commander, Lieutenant General Udomchai Thamsarorat announced the arrest of 29 year old Narothorn Preuthiphan, an alleged major drug dealer at a rented apartment in Nakhon Si Thammarat's Muang District.

Police were able to seize 23,000 methamphetamine pills, 400 grams of 'Ice', 700,000 baht in cash, and an account book with more than 10 million baht in circulation.

The Army 4 Region commander disclosed that investigators have kept a close tab on Narothorn who has been dealing drugs inside Wachirawut army camp to soldiers and their families for quite some time.

Drug addiction became a major problem in the camp, which prompted investigators to track down the responsible party.

Investigators say Narothorn belongs to one of the country's biggest drug rings, with the ring leader controlling the money and drug flow.

Narothorn has previously been convicted on drug charges and was recently released from the Nakhon Si Thammarat Central Remand Prison.
