To look on the bright side though, there are definitely a number of girls who are more interested in money and are happy to do anything - if it increases their chances of making more money. However, NOBODY thought for one moment that I was 'looking for paying customers - cough'. Unlike here. It is understood in the UK that most young women working in pubs are doing so to earn extra money, even though they have a full-time job elsewhere. They pluck the hair under their arms. 4. They don't use tampons. 5. Their hair is different. 6. They have a different tolerance for heat and hot peppers. 7. They believe in ghosts. 8. They have a different tolerance for cold. 9. They take more showers. 10. They have different shaped eyes and noses. 11. They like the smell of old crabs and fish. 12. They eat more rice. 13. They have darker skin. 14. They have less hair on their legs. 15. They wash clothes by hand. 16. They like to eat different vegetables. 17. They buy fish with the heads on and eat the eyes. 18. They eat bugs. 19. They eat the feet of chicken. I could keep going on for an hour but sooner or later we would get to the Hans Christian Andersen thing and you would get angry because I got into non PC areas. I could give you a thousand examples of Thai women being different than Western woman. Outside of the posters on Thai Visa who came to Thailand for, employment, food and culture the rest of us are here because Thai women are different than Western women. Your father should have told you this but maybe he never visited Thailand. I first read Kipling when I was a child. He told it true. This is not a recent phenomenon. Thai bar girls and non-bar girls are different. Initially, maybe not, but once you get the girl out of the bar and she stops being a rent-a-girl and starts becoming herself, no longer under contract to "perform" the difference is negligible. Everywhere in life you get lazy freeloader user type people, and honest-to-god hard working genuine ones...... once out of the bar, she will be on or the other..... just like the girl who works behind the counter at 7-11 or the Hilton..... add another: 12. Thai girls, and Thai people are of a completely different mindset and cultural disposition; attempts to make them conform to a western notion of "normal" are futile and contrary to the whole point of getting involved with an Asian girl. I cannot get through life without a bit of generalisation, prejudice, and other forms of categorising people. All this means is, that I accept that a lot of traits are common in one set of people and rare in another set. For example, I never met a European who enjoyed chicken’s feet for a snack. But I also accept that each person I observe/meet is unique and I may discover (and generally enjoy) this interesting facet of their personality before long. The thing I am worried about, is the poster who recons that Hollywood invented love 100 years ago! (They may have invented the sex symbol but not love) Books were written about love long before that. Mistrals were singing stories of love... I am sure that personal love is something that evolved to assist in the upbringing of human children. Generally, it holds a family together, increasing the chances of a successful new generation. Maybe part of it is learnt ‘socialised behaviour’ but, none the less real for that. Love does not last, and now it become over-ridingly important, so when it end, the family also end in divorce. Sex not all that important to many woman, only means to reproduce. Once reproduce no longer require man, only he money or state money. Don't need sex so much (maybe any more), don't need man hang around want sex all time, discard man. 3rd world different, state not support single woman, state not give man money to woman. You are wrong. Look at numbers 1-19 and you will find they are applicable to the great majority of Thai women and not to Farang women. I guess one could say that because 2 out of 100 men don't like two women in bed that all men are different. And that is in fact the basis of your argument. If one does not know this then he has not been with a great number of Thai women. In some way ALL Thai person very similar. Generally men more feminine, generally lady more manly, where else you find ladyboy and so many gay and lesbian. Many lady sexual predator (violent and aggressive), many men very soft and compliant (and pretty, look good in frock). Attributes all mix together. Things change both mentally and physically for her. As a man, you have done what you set your own trap into doing. You built the nest, surrounded the nest with all the acceptable trinkets to draw her in with. You displayed you could afford to support and protect her. Your mission is complete. You won your mate away the next available bachelor!!!!!!! . Now have your offspring and afford and support her. US humans are no different then any other animal on this planet. We like to think we are but we are not. Us humans have made this an emotional scenario using LOVE as the main ingredient for it's success. The Cinderella story. The Knight in Shining Armor. The Protector. It just does not work. Olaf made some reasonable comments about Love. As for marriage and the "Until death do you part"....well that is an unrealistic expectation that sets both parties up to fail, and most do. Most never make past 10 years, 25 tops. What I find funny is the man who marries over and over. This totally dumbfounds me. Did they not learn anything?
