Thai Passport In Pattaya

Featured Replies

and then have it sent to their home in Bangkok? If so any idea where!?

We are visiting only briefly over Christmas & New Year and have just realised that my wife's passport will be into the final '6 month period' half way through our trip.

Am I right in thinking that you should not not travel on a passport that has less than 6 months until it expires?

Thanks all,

M&M

She has to apply passport in Bang Na. They will mail it back though.

Ok - thanks for that : )

Was at Bang Na passport office today. Passport renewals for the wife plus my 2 boys.

Very impressed by speed and efficiency. Office open 8.30 to 15.30. Located on floor B1 at Central. Passports available for collection this Friday - 2 days. Alternatively, could have paid Bt35 for mailing service, with 7 days indicated.

Thanks - that's encouraging news. Although I guess things might be slower around Christmas / New year. I will get my wife to contact them directly.

Anyone know if I am correct in thinking that you can not travel on a passport with less than 6 months until it expires?

Thanks again,

Don't know if that is a general rule, but for Thailand: the passport should have a validity of 6 month upon LEAVING Thailand.

Upon arrival without a visa through an international airport, the passport should have a validity of at least 6 months + 30 days.

If you enter Thailand with a visa, the passport should have a validity of the visa-validity + 6 months. Usually that is checked by the local Thai Consulate/Embassy and possibly by the airliner upon leaving for Thailand.

FYI, once in a while they do come to Pattaya for Passport renewals

(and may be also new applications).

I don't know the schedule or if it is a regular thing or not. Last time

they came to pattaya, both of my kids got their passports renewed

here. They setup at some hotel in Jim Thien, don't remember the

name. We picked them up the next day at the same location.

I think it was announced on some Thai media ...
