Cargo plane crash in South Korea kills 2

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA (BNO NEWS) -- At least two people were killed after a cargo plane crashed in South Korea on Wednesday.

The accident involved a Boeing-744 aircraft operated by Asiana Airlines cargo plane, which is South Korea's second-largest flagship carrier, Yonhap news agency reported. The plane was carrying one pilot and one crew member.

The aircraft took off at around 3 a.m. local time from the Incheon International Airport and was headed to China's Pudong, but it later crashed off South Korea's Jeju Island, some 107 kilometers (66.4 miles) west of the city of Jeju, where it was found by local Coast Guard patrol at around 6 a.m.

According to reports, the aircraft disappeared from radar around one hour after take off while returning to Jeju International Airport. It had reported some mechanical trouble, but the reason of the accident remains uncertain, as investigations are ongoing.
