Hi,

I have just started online gaming again on my PC.

I used to play a lot in England about 2 years ago, how ever i am now based in Thailand and have a 2 meg adsl connection in Koh Samui.

I only have Viet-cong 1 game at the moment and i cant seem to be able to play properly because of High pings, the lowest i get is aoround 200.

I want to buy Brothers in Arms and farcry but i do'nt want to buy anymore games before i know i can play online properly getting low pings.

There must be servers in Thailand, Sinapore ect.

I am a member of gamespy & 3Dgamers.

Does anyone know what i can do?

but to answer your question, 200ms ping times are about right for Thailand, its the actual conenction out of the country thats poo and causes the issues...

Is that right 200 pings are usual, most servers set there autokick to 200-300

Has anyone had any good experiences online gaming with different games in Thailand before?

And does anyone play with friends in the UK or US ?

Ping times between Thailand and the US are normally between 200 and 300msec.

This cannot be improved due to the physical distance between the two locations!

Unfortunately it seems that most traffic to Europe also gets routed through the US, since I ping most European sites at between 400 and 500 msec

That means European game servers are completely out of the question!

Most Asian locations(Japan / Korea) ping at between 100 and 200msec, but strangely MAlaysian sites ping very high, many times over 1000 msec!
