I Want A Very Basic Gps.

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a very basic GPS for Thailand. It simply has to have a map of Thailand, in English, the same as google maps, and it has to show me exactly where I am on it at all times.

It will need to be accurate enough countrywide (ie, when out bike riding in the sticks).

That's all I require. Nothing more, nothing less.

Anyone got some recommendations, with approx. prices? Would like to buy one in the next few days.

Thanks.

The Garmin Nuvi 1250 from Eagle GPS in Chiang Mai will do everything you want and costs 3,900 baht including the best Thai map available.

And no, you don't have to go to Chiang Mai. You can order via the Internet and have it delivered right to your front door.

Then probably Gadget Trend sell the same model in Bangkok, Amarin Plaza, Second floor. Got RAM mounts too. & power cords.

Gary is that the 11.0 maps?

All new Garmin nuvi models sold in Thailand come with the ESRI V11.1 map.

Thanks all. Actually went out and bought the Nuvi 1250 in Esplanade for 3900thb. Seems good, my first GPS. Cheers.

Though a few questions about connecting and powering it to my motorbike, which will probably be better seen in another thread.
