I am delighted to report that Roberto, of Da Roberto fame, the little restaurant just off Moon Muang near John's Place/Cozy Corner, is out of hospital.

He is now recovering with his family in Pharma, near Milano, and hopes to be back in Chiang Mai before Christmas.

His wife 'Mamma Lai' told me tonight he is getting better quickly after giving us all a big scare.

Da Roberto will be open regularly from August 16th onwards, and closed only 2 Mondays every month after that.

No relation with this business except as a friend of many years standing, and an overweight customer!

Heres wishing Roberto a speedy recovery and also a safe and quick return to Chiang Mai.

Some many years back wasn't he in a partnership with another ' R ' initialed guy [Ricardo ??] in the nite market area? I think near The Red Lion. Same Roberto I think.

In any event , get well soon and back in the thick of things. I know how difficult it is to be away from ones desired daily labors.

IMHO he makes one of the best Italian style pizzas in Chiang Mai and the pasta is good too. Get well soon!
