Well went for my 90 day report and 1 year extension yesterday. This was 4th 90 day report- do it in person - had form TM 47 filled out and gave him our passports but this time he wanted photocopies of several pages of our

passports.Tells me a new requirement, but since I was also going to do the 1 year I had to do that first and had the information girl give me 2 new forms for the 1 year. One was half Thai and Half English and basically had our

name and address and that I understood the rules and regulations of Thailand - the other was a full page all in Thai. Told the girl I did not read Thai but was told to fill it out. With the help of my wife and a Thai gentleman there -we did.

It seemed to be a paper that wanted my name - address - age - citizenship -my bank name and number and my monthly income. Tried to explain I had the money in the bank and didn't use monthly but was told to fill it out.

I have monthly but without a US embassy letter I didn't want to make waves so we filled it out (the immigration officers looked at them for 2 seconds and filed them at the bottom of the pile). They checked my papers and found a

problem - I got the bank letter and update on Friday and it was now Monday it was NO GOOD. Has to be within 24 hours so I would have to find a local branch and update. My wife's papers were okay except they now require a

copy of the marriage certificate for her dependency. I was told no copy - no extension. Fortunately I had one with me. When I returned from the bank had to get a different officer who found everything okay except my letter

from the bank said that I had over 1 million baht in that account but the officer said it had to have the number written down (something I asked the bank to do but was told new form). I argued that I only needed 800,000 and they

say I have over 1 million for over 1 year and she can see my bankbook. NO GOOD - must have number written down. Frustrated - we were about to leave when she had a change of heart and said to make certain next year.

If the bank tells them I have over 1 million it should be enough to cover the 800,000 one would think. This is Khon Kaen - maybe different elsewhere but I fail to understand why they would give me a form completely in Thai, and

while they have demo's of the TM 7, 8 and 47 there is no demo for the new forms. Anyways - started at 10:30 AM and finished at 2:30PM but good for another year.
