I really cant believe speedtest.....Do you really believe i am pinging tampa, fl at 28ms????

It's a bogus ping time and download speed due to the ping response/file download really coming from an "in-Thailand" cache server. A valid ping time to the U.S. is usually in the 200 to 350ms ballpark, but some servers/locations may be significantly higher. Go to DSLReports.com and run their speed test as it should give you some real word results.

I'm on a True Cable 20Mb/2Mb plan here in Bangkok and can pretty much pull 20Mb download speeds and 10ms ping time from any speedtest.net server on Earth. Unfortunately those bogus readings are due to the progamming of the Speedtest.net being easily fooled by local cache severs. Fortunately through, True has a proxy server setting which you can enter into your browser settings and it elminates these bogus readings readings.

For example: the first thumbnail below is my Speedtest.net results to Tampa today/Sunday/2pm....second thumbnail is another test to Tampa but with the proxy setting turned on which eliminates the bogus readings.

And here is a test to LA with proxy on (proxy off I just get bogus, faster than the speed of light results). On the average I get around 5Mb donwload speeds to the U.S. and over 10Mb to Singapore since that is more of a direct line.
