i have had my car since 2 years still has the new smell however i dont notice it anymore since i have got used to it but a new person sitting in the car always notices it

It all depends how you take care of the interior

regarding opening of snack food that kind of smell lasts temporarily

burn a couple of plastic bags inside car, and close it when smoke has left

A fix for a new fridge inside was to mix Bicarbonate of Soda with water and give it a wipe around, and it works, perhaps if the smell is getting up your nose perhaps try the same on the plastic. Please try a hidden bit first in case the plastic doesn't like it.

Strange question. I think you will notice this if you inhale through your nose.

Regarding the timespan, if you like smoking cigars or perspire a lot, maybe a couple of weeks.
