Changes to "Long Term" Non-IMM Visas - 5 Year "Non-OA" Retirement Visa? (PURE SPECULATION).
They announced changes to the Non Imm O-A visa, known as the 'long stay retirement' visa. The change was to reduce the mandatory Health Insurance from the current 3M BHT requirement, to 400K inpatient, 40K outpatient between September - December. If it's not from an official Immigration website, treat it with a pinch of salt. -

Given a decent drawing with measurements, any reputable stainless welding shop will make whatever you want, well finished, or you could use steel and powder coat it. Anti-vibration pads, mounts, feet, etc., are easy to find on Lazada. It need not cost a fortune, or take very long. I can recommend businesses to use in Pattaya, if that is any help. -

Gun permit, licens
It used to be possible for foreigners with PR to legally purchase and own firearms in Thailand. The law was changed a few years ago to restrict gun ownership to Thai nationals. I don't know whether foreigners with existing permits were grandfathered. -

If you want to maintain the exception has been rescinded then some verification to that should be forthcoming. Until then it is a perfectly valid option for the OP, obviously you don't realise it is only valid if the OP were to arrive on a Cat O visa. Your views shouldn't be an impediment to the OP's options, it is the facts that count. -
