Downgrade Ipad 2 From 4.3.5 To 4.3.3

Hello people.

I have the new ipad 2 wifi + 3G model. It was running under jailbreak with Cydia for a few weeks now but yesterday my home-screen froze and I tried everything but was forced to do a "Restore" and as you know Apple and Itunes will only do the retore along with the upgrade to 4.3.5 so you cannot jailbreak it.

I have been on all of the youtube tutorials but the problem is I did not save my SHSH from my original firmware of 4.3.1 so I am having problems using the Tinyumbrella to downgrade back to 4.3.3 or 4.3.1

I have also been into tukcom and none of the tech's there know how to do it yet either so I am now asking if anyone here can do this for me.

Jailbreaks are legal now in the USA etc and to me if you can't have cydia on your ipad then it's useless.

If anyone can help me with this please either post here or send me a private message and we can meet.

I can move this to the Apple Forum if you wish

Thanks Rimmer but what would you suggest? I don't want someone in Bkk or elsewhere replying because this would be kind of a meet and fix basis but you could also be right, I might get better feedback on websites to use etc?

Jeez you would have to make me think wouldn't you, hahaha

Ok mate maybe you should move it. I've had no response here for 2 days thanks. PS; I might be a little dim but where do I find the Apple forum here on TV?

Perhaps there is similarity between the iPad2 and iPhone4. Perhaps not, I'll add my issue with my iPhone4 and let you see how similar it is.

In a similar manner my phone crapped out and I needed to run a factory restore.

This put OS 4.3.5 on my phone. I too had not saved the data required to downgrade my phone to 4.3.1 and as such was unable to run an un-tethered jailbreak.

As I understand it an updated OS (OS 5 ?) is due out any time soon and the 'jail-breakers' are concentrating on jail-breaking that. As such no un-tethered jailbreak is out for OS 4.3.5.

However, there is a tethered Jailbreak out which involves downloading the IPSW file for OS 4.3.4.

I have had to resign myself to a tethered jailbreak for now until an un-tethered jailbreak for the next OS version becomes available.

It is possible that the issue with your iPad2 could be solved by running a tethered jailbreak and being patient until an un-tethered jailbreak arrives for the next OS version.

Downgrading the baseband on 3G iPad 2 is not possible yet. If you do have a 3G iPad 2 and have upgraded to iOS 4.3.5, then you are out of luck for now.

I am in BKK, but will reply anyway. If you did not save your SSH's either through Cydia or Tinyumbrella, then you will not be able to jailbreak until a new jailbreak is released. You cannot downgrade your baseband.

With an iphone 4 it is easy to jailbreak after restore with greenpois0n from many youtube videos however downgrading to 4.3.4 is still the same as 4.3.5 really because not many cydia app's work on that version. You are better taking it into tukcom and for 200 baht he will downgrade it to 4.3.3.

Yes ipad 2 wifi + 3G is not yet possible to downgrade yet but I think another week and youtube will have many tutorials for people who did not save their SHSH. Even the tethered Greenpois0n won't work. I tried it. Actually they claim it does work in this video however I just couldn't get mine into DFU mode but I will paste the link here at the bottom if you folks wanna try. It's ok I can wait, still have my iphone 4 with every cydia app under the sun.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBTAM3vVSlc <<-- You might need to copy and paste that link into your browser but I subscribed to this guy and asked him to let me know when the new jailbreak for 4.3.5 unteathered comes out.

Thanks for all the answers though folks. :)

There will never be a 4.35 jailbreak. To do so would waste an exploit that will be patched in iOS 5. The next jailbreak will be for the new iOS. Sorry, your stuck mate.

Q: Will I permanently lose the jailbreak if I need to restore my device?

A: For all except the iPad2, saving your SHSH blobs should let you always restore your device to iOS versions where this jailbreak works. The iPad2 is a little more complicated. If you have a wifi-only iPad2 and saved SHSH blobs, you’re in good shape. But if you have the GSM or CDMA iPad2, you won’t be able to restore to 4.3.3 or lower once Apple stops signing its baseband. There are a few ideas that might work to get around this limitation, but for now it’s best to assume there’s no going back to 4.3.3 once 4.3.4 is out for iPad2 GSM or CDMA owners.
