I am a 24 year old American citizen hoping to teach English in Thailand. After much searching I have begun to question the visa options. I was hoping someone could offer some advice.

As of know, here is what I am debating:

1) Apply for a non-immigrant type "B" visa while in the states. Then go to Thailand and look for a job. However, I was also wondering if the recommendation letter from the company can be an American based company. I can arrange this, because the company I work for will/does do business in Southeast Asia.

2) Get a 60 day tourist visa. Find a job once I arrive in Thailand and then get a non-immigrant visa.

I would appreciate any advise regarding this matter.
