Usa Embassy Add Pages

Recommended Posts

Lets say I ask for the online appointment today - when will that appointment be given? Will I be given a date & time while I am asking for the appointment online or will an email giving me that info be sent to me? And how long after being given that date and time is it before I would probably be asked to show - as in will it be next week, two weeks, a month?

Probably not a well crafted couple of questions but I'll be someone can figure out what I'm asking . . big solly

My Passport was stolen in late June-a replacement cost 135$ and I failed to see where I could get one with more pages. But it is more than just Passport fees that are high. Each single document one has notarized now costs 50$, whereas the same service in the US normally costs 5$. I always have K-Y with me when going to the Embassy on business. It goes in so much easier that way.

In my old home state of Texas we used to say, "Most people, when hearing a government man is here to "help us," reach for their wallet. We reach for our gun!"

Barry's UD$ 500 billion "loan" to the bankrupt Solindra has to be made up somehow...socialism ain't cheap!

Off topic but I'm sorry this kind of right wing propaganda bullshi* has to addressed.

500 billion? lol.. Your only off by about 450 billion. The correct amount of the Solyndras loan was 535 million...with an "m". .07% of the 787 billion stimulus package and just 1.3 percent of the Department of Energy's overall loan portfolio. To date, Solyndra is the only loan that's known to be troubled. This is exactly the kind of thing the right wing conservatives love. Lies on top of spin on top of spin, and people still believe it.

The Solyndra loan, and many others like it, was actually the brain child of the Bush Administration, (Bush was such a socialist!!) but of course now conservative news outlets are carrying rubbish headlines like "Solyndra scandal might bring down the white house." What scandal? Solyndra couldn't compete with better subsidized Chinese companies. It's difficult industry when the economy is good. Businesses do fail from time to time.

Investing in sustainable energy is socialism? lol

You select an open appointment time from those offered during selection. You can make from today up to at least 3 months in the future (and perhaps longer). You can later rescind and re-book if you need to do so.

Back in the day, there was an option for 24 or 48 page USA passport.

I recall when USA was first introducing the passports with the chip, the word was only 24 page passports would be offered, and they would *not* add pages. Thankfully, logic and/or common sense prevailed and pages can be added to the 'chipped' passports.

I renewed my USA passport at the end of 2010. There was no option for selecting the number of pages...the default is 48 pages.

I cannot speak to how many pages can be added...my previous passport was 48 pages initially, and I added 2 x 24 pages before it came time to renew the passport. On more than one occasion I have had to show an immigration official the stamp/visa he was looking for...I can only imagine the level of difficulty if one had 100+ pages of stamps in there.

As far as the ~80 USD fee for adding pages...even if a person is adding pages every couple of years, is it really that much of a hardship? And do not whine about the 'principle of the matter'...people expecting everything to be 'free' from government is why our governments are in such fiscal trouble.

There is no service without an appointment from September 1st unless an emergency situation. This appointment process has been available for several years but is now mandatory.

Yes and veeeery convenient, never had a problem it also gets you right in the front of the queue at the front door too. I went down with an appointment the first time I tried it several months before it became mandatory and several guys who hadn't got one of course made some comments about cutting the queue until I informed them that I had an internet appointment so therefore I was already on queue and it was very gratifying to see the looks on their faces  then they asked how I got it so I explained and they were glad to have found out..

The cost for new pages has been in effect some years also it has just gone recently that's all.

Yep no new news here just an ill informed, disgruntled expat complaining..

Be happy we can still get pages added. Most other countries cannot and have to apply for a new passport when full. I always find the Embassy very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. $82 is a small price to pay.

They may be helpful and a pleasure to deal with, but their fees are high.

The germans canot add new pages to a passport. You will have to apply for a new passport, wait for 6 weeks to get it done and pay 80.- Euros ( 130 US $) !

Your embassy's service adding a few new pages . . .wish the germans would offer this to me !
