November 5, 200520 yr A Boat service between Phi Phi island and Koh Hai in Trang is launched. The Phi Phi – Hai islands boat services were inaugurated on October 26th with 2 trips daily. Koh Hai or Hai island is a small island located on the boundary of Krabi and Trang in the Andaman sea. The island sees around 50,000 visitors per year. The island’s Tourist Business Club Chairman Leupong Ongcharoen believes that the new service will increase visitors’ numbers. He also reaffirmed that the island is ready to welcome tourists with 500 rooms in accommodation available with prices ranging from 900 to 20,000 baht. Meanwhile Krabi Vice Governor Chai Panitchapornphan said it will help boost tourism in the region.
