Hi All,

My husband has recently moved to Thailand with plan of 3-4 years on business visa with work permit from his company. I too plan to join him soon in Thailand. I am currently working in India and wish to continue working in Thailand too. I hold Masters in pharmacy and am currently working for a consulting firm.

Please guide me which visa to apply so that I can easily get work permit when required. I do not have any job offers as of now and will look for the job opportunities in Thailand soon.

Can anyone please answer whether companies at Thailand are open to hire people on dependent visa or do they prefer only foreign nationals holding work permit?

Please help.

I don't think the visa type you may be on is so important. If a conpany wants to hire you they will do the paperwork for your work permit and you may leave the country and apply at any Thai Embassy with the documentation from the company, reciept form labor office for work permit, or the actual work permit to change your visa type, to Non B with work permit.

Right now you qualify for a dependent visa based on your husband, provided your husband is on an extension of stay from immigration.

The policy now seems that no work permit will be issued based on being a dependent, so you will come to Thailand as a dependent and start looking for a job. Once you found a job apply for a non-B visa abroad.
