Mex / Smeg Electrical Products / Service In Cm

Featured Replies

Would appreciate any comments from experience re quality of these electrical products (hob, hood, oven) and service quality in CM.

Thanks.

My experience with SMEG has not been good. Service people for serious problems, like replacing parts, have to come from Bangkok and it can take a month for the service people to get here. We kind of gave up on them for years after they didn't even show up a few times because they had scheduled too many appointments. Last month they did come in about 2 weeks to fix a lot of problems with our stove including one burner that had never worked from the start. Just today, one burner that they fixed, the big one, failed again.

I think that Mex might be a better bet. I believe that they do have local service people in Chiang Mai. But don't take my word for it.

Also I remember a few years ago someone posting a similar complaint about SMEG. Somehow he contacted the HQ in Italy and they finally set his problem right.

I have been using Mex in all homes and condos I have as well as have them on my list to get on my home under construction.

9 homes, 8 years, not a single problem. And that is why I keep using them
