Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
I agree most gifts should be made on a special occasion as you describe. The Thai tax code specifically lists a different situation and that is a gift under moral obligation. There is no expected timing on that. I have brought my daughters from 5 & 8 years old, clearly I have a moral obligation to educate them. -

apartments with an oven ?
I beg to differ: a. I found the NC-60301 at a deep discount. So, I will buy at this price. The reason I found this oven is DUE TO THE FACT that the OP posted this Topic. This caused me to do a search to find what is available in Thailand, CHEAP. And, I found the item I will buy today, at the store, and not online. So, NOT Garbage Out, on this point. b. I stated that I would get one of those Halogen ovens, the type with the large glass bowl. I used these in Taiwan for many years. The problem is that the heating mechanisms used to "burn out" after a year of heavy use. But, this is OK with me now...because.... I am relatively WEALTHY now, and I can afford to throw my money around on a Bt.1000 oven these days. In past decades, in Taiwan, this same Bt.1000 oven would cost over double. And, at the time, I thought it was not worth that much. So, on this point, I know you will agree that this is NOT ...... GARBAGE Out... c. I like to cook 54 chicken-breast halves ALL AT ONE GO. This saves on heating up the kitchen more than once per month. I have previously explained my logic in prior posted comments and Topics. This also saves Energy and reduces my contribution to Global Warming. So, on this point...NOT....GARBAGE Out.....!!!! No harm done, though. I understand how you might have misunderstood my logic... Many people do. People on TV, some of them, say I am weird. I agree. But... The question is.... Am I not only weird, but garbage, TOO???? No. I am DUST. Specifically....STARDUST. And... So are you. Here is the PROOF of this statement, and NOT...GARBAGE, by any means....: STARDUST! NOT Garbage! -

Thai gov. to tax (remitted) income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024 - Part II
I would only do it after professional advice, and preferably not this year - later, when the dust has settled. Gift tax was discussed in the first tax thread in extenso, opinions differ. I think Mike Lister has summarized it in the pinned tax guide. You are probably ok, but I would gift it as a special occasion, just in case: wedding or something like that (betrothal? Exams?). Birthday may not count. -

Playing the 'dumb tourist'
im off out now on a little social experiment. I'm heading to a well known tourist ghetto dressed in the stereotypical tourist attire. I'm going to pretend that I am fresh off the boat and have no clue about anything. I'm also going to say yes to anything that is offered to me. I have a spare 10,000 in my pocket and i'm bored so I fancy a bit of fun.. who knows where I may end up! btw, if you see a bloke dressed like this today then it may just be me!! UPDATES TO FOLLOW. bob.
