Anybody know of an american notary in Pattaya? Thanks

The US embassy does an outreach day here several times a year. Not sure when the next one is, but I'm sure you can check with the embassy to find out.

I'm registered with the embassy, so automatically get notices of the upcoming events.

Also two embassy wardens in Pattaya, Bobby Brookes who has a property office in the Jomtien Complex and Gary Hacker whose details should be on one of the expat clubs website.

Depending on what you need Notarized, I just used a Thai Notary (thai lawyer) and it was OK. I asked first if it was acceptable, showed what it looked like and they said as llong as it had the seal and was proper it would be OK....Just a thought.... there is a law firm there that can do that...

As noted by WO, it really does depend on the document and who is receiving it. If it is being submitted to a court in the US, it will probably need to be notarized at the US Embassy in Bangkok (or at one of its outreach sessions in Pattaya). I believe that they now charge $50 for this service. If the document is for a commercial purpose, a notarization by a Thai lawyer authorized to provide notary services in Thailand may suffice. I recently had my signature on a document required by a US Federal Government agency notarized by a lawyer in Pattaya, where the document's instructions clearly state that a lawyer authorized to notarize a document or a bank officer who can seal the document could "notarize" the document. She was excellent, speaks excellent English and is her price is reasonable (I paid B500 for her notary service). Her name is Supaporn Sara Persson, close to Brunos on Thappraya Road (phone 0820837999). I recommend her highly. You should check in advance to ensure that a Thai lawyer can serve the notary function. I have no professional or commercial relationship with Ms. Persson, except that I have used her services and was very satisfied. PS: My bank was unwilling to notarize my signature, at least not without a trip to Bangkok.
