Can I Work Part-Time As A Singer With An Ed Visa?

Featured Replies

I am a singer from North American and looking to sing in a local club in Thailand. I currently have an ED visa and want to know if I can sing part time with it or do I have to change it to a work visa. I also have children do I have to change their 0 visas too? Also is there a minimum wage I should expect to earn as a singer from North America? Any good advise is needed so thank you in advance.

You are not allowed to work unless you get an work permit. The only legal singing you would be able to do if you were teaching it in a school.

Moved to the Visa/WP forum.

You will need a non-immigrant B visa.

A Thai entity must apply for a work permit for you.

The Thai entity must have 4 employees per foreign employee and 2 million in capital for every alien.

To get extension of stay based on employment you must earn a minimum of 50.000 baht per month.

Your children can get extension as dependants as today.

Work permits are also location- and duty-specific. Technically, you cannot legally even work at another physical location (though this is almost never enforced) or do other duties than that specified by the official registered job.
