Any Places For Vacation Up North Not Flood-Affected ?

Featured Replies

My wife and I are going up to the North-East tomorrow to see her parents but after that we'd like to spend a week in the mountains or somewhere away from flooding. Does anyone have a good suggestion or two ?

Can't just go to any old mountain as the roads in may be too muddy.....eg. Khao Yai National Park.

Doi Mae Salong above Chiang Rai is a great place to go and my guess is no problems at all with flooding.

Thanks Ulysses, but it's too far from the North-East. We want to stay in the Eastern quadrant of Thailand. No flooding near Mom and Pop's house but a little boring.......

If you specify a bit more precise (Amphoe) where your wife's family lives, you could get useful answers.

I would always suggest an excursion to either Khon Kaen or Udon Thani (plus Nong Khai/Mekong) which are not flood affected.

Nice landscapes / parks/ mountains in the Loei region not flood affected.

Loei region and Petchebun region all relatively safe flood is long over in these areas. Good areas to explore.

Udon Thani, Loei and espically Chiang Khang are nice...

Ubon Ratchathani would be good, plenty of high ground there. That is if you can reach it?
