I have a question.

I from Russia also live in Thailand on a tourist visa. It is necessary for me to exchange my passport. The embassy of my country have told that can change to me the passport under any visa, but only not Tourist Visa. What cheapest variant to make to itself Non Imm (study, non-b.). Can eat other variants of visas? To me term is not especially important, 90 days are better certainly. I live on Samui, I plan to go to Malaysia within a month, therefore it would be desirable that the visa could be made faster. The student's visa for 29к does not approach me - too expensive, plus it is necessary to study language etc. Online training for 15к that offer on Samui looks like lies.

I dont wont work. or learning - only non Imm visa for 60 day to change my passport.

Thnks.

PS Forgive for my English.

You must have good reason to get a non-immigrant visa, like Family, Business or Education.

Will your embassy not let you have 2 passports? Then you could leave on old and come back on the new one.

What do they do for people who lose their passports? It must happen often!

The Thai Immigration people can move Visa's to new passports for all other countries, why not Russia??

What your embassy say, does not seem correct?? maybe speak to them again..

I believe your passport is expiring and your Embassy will not issue a replacement if you are here on a tourist visa? So you need some type of non immigrant visa entry to make your embassy believe you are here officially rather than as a tourist to issue a new passport?

You would not seem to qualify for anything as your refuse education, not married to a Thai, not legally working. So unless you are willing to donate time to obtain visa entry for NGO work (which often is a long term process or involve the same money as education) do not believe there is much choice. You may still be able to obtain a single entry B visa from some legal offices if you can convince them you have business plans but that does not appear to be your case. It might be cost effective to just return home and obtain a new passport.

I had learned in his embassy to the exchange will not have problems.

Only need to learn how you can get a IMM visa not as cheap. So far the cheapest option is education - 24K baht. May have more options? I have heard that non-B visa can be done to a cheap Thailand.

Once again I want to say - I have no problem with the exchange, if I have not imigratsionnaya visa for 3 months.
