Driving Lessons For Tgf

Can anybody recommend a driving school and or individual instructor in or around Pattaya for my TGF?

I am not interested in whether they can help get the licence but that they can actually impart some driving skills :whistling:

Thanks

There's a school on Pattaya Klang near Big C (old Carreffour) on the right handside on the way from the beach to the Suk Rd.

My missus said that they told her she was one of the best students that they'd had.

All I can say is that I'd hate to see the worst.

It's still a good idea though. Get the lessons & then experience on the road is the real true teacher. Keep her off the Suk though or at least no uturns for a while at least

Mine used same place, think it was about two weeks of lessons. I wouldn't allow her to pay the 500baht bribe so she failed test first time. As I had seen the simple tasks required to pass, I taught her them over the weekend and she passed 2nd attempt without paying a bribe. It took another couple of months to teach her safe enough driving for me to be happy for her to drive alone.

Paid 6,000 THB for 20 hours of instruction at a driving school on Pattaya Tai on the same side of the street as Tukcom near Bank of Ayudhya. They use both manual and automatic transmission vehicles so she got experience in driving a stick

She did very well on the written test and passed the driving test first time with no bribe required

This place has been mentioned to me by a few people - unfortunately sounds from what you may both be saying that the actual skill sets imparted were less than optimal - or am I being too harsh?

Langsuan - thanks. Is there any chance of a specific instructor recommendation?

She, in typical Thai fashion, refuses to name a particular "ajarn" they were all good according to her (three different instructors)

But I will have to admit, she is a good little driver once she understood that mia pen rai is not suited for the roads

Thanks for asking. I shall pass the rec on and we shall see...

I have never seen anyone in Thailand that have driving skills to impart. The cops that enforce the laws can't drive. I doubt there are any schools with drivers that can help either. Just take your money.

My wife learned from watching me. She picked it up pretty well, I must say. Some of may habits she picked up too well. lol.

081 7928363 but in calling around to get you the number the TG says that her friend says that the former teachers are no longer there so you might want to insist on a "test" lesson to insure that your lady is happy with the instruction
