I'm hoping some of the more experienced members may be able to assist me with my query;

I have a retirement visa with multiple re-entries. I am still working in another country and will be coming and going on alternate months (1 month away from thailand, 1 month back in thailand) indefinitely. I opted for this type of visa because it can be done from here and I do not need to travel to my home country for renewal, and I also believe it is easier to purchase certain types of property, license vehicles etc. My question is: do I still need to report my address every 90 days or is this for extension purposes only? also, if I do need to report do I use the TM47 form? thanks in advance

You can not obtain such a visa in Thailand so suspect what you have is a one year extension of stay for retirement and have obtained a multi re-entry permit for it? So each time you exit you return for the same permitted to stay until date? If you remain in Thailand more than 90 days a report would be required but you will not do that as they are not due when outside country and each entry is day one of a new 90 day count.

It this is not what you have it must be a multi entry non immigrant O visa you obtained from a Consulate outside Thailand which would never allow more than 90 day entry so reports would never be required.

It is also possible that he received a Non-OA Retirement Visa Multiple Entry from the Thai embassy back home.

In this case he will receive a 365 entry stamp on arrival ( so he can stay for one year in the country without doing visa runs ) in this case he needs to do the 90 days reporting at the immigration office in case he doesn’t leave the country.

He will receive this 365 day entry stamp at arrival every time he enters Thailand until the “Enter before date:” stamp date on his visa.

When he is in the country on his last 365 day entry permission ( so after the “Enter before date: “ date ) and needs to leave the country he needs to apply for an (single or multiple ) re-entry permit so he doesn’t lose the date from his last entry in his passport.

So he can stay basically almost for 2 years in Thailand on 1 visa.

thanks for your helpful replies. it is definitely a retirement visa and I obtained it here in Phuket through a legal firm. anyway as I will be coming and going on a monthly basis I guess I do not need to report my address every 90 days. thanks again

If you obtained in Thailand for retirement and valid for a stay of one year it is an extension of stay and not a visa that allows that stay. You also must have a re-entry permit in your passport for any exit to keep that time alive on return.
