New Passport

I have a brand new uk passport, I have been told I need a letter before I go do my next visa run can anyone conferm that. I live in the north east bee told by the same person can only be done at pattaya or bkk and the cost is 3,000 Thai baht

You don't need a letter.

As you have to visa runs i presume that you have a multi Non-O Imm visa issued outside Thailand.

If this is the case most immigration offices will not transfer your current visa into your new passport.

This is not a problem as long you travel with both passports. ( visas in your old passport remains valid )

Hand over both passports at the immigration counter and they will stamp your new passport and normally write a remark next to it.
