Teacher Looking For Somewhere To Live In Surat Thani

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've been browsing on the forum for a while now before I came out to Thailand, and now seems as good as time as any to finally join.

I have just completed my TEFL and will be teaching English in Meung Surat School in Surat Thani, but as of yet have no where to live, and have no idea if where to look.

I was able to make it down earlier in the week to have a look around with my teaching agency, but most apartments were full, or would not take farang. I do not know whether this was because of the time of the month, or that there is literally no where to rent!

I have a budget of around 5,000 Bt max, and would like a townhouse if possible, but if needs be would stay in an apartment. I'm just looking for anywhere to live really.

I would apprecieate any help or advice and even any contacts if they are out there.

Thanks in advance,

Francis

Maybe they think you wont' stay for a full year? Odd, afraid I can't help you with the accommodation thing, but what about your school? Perhaps they can either offer advice or help you find some place?

The school would be a good route to go, but they do not open till the 1st Nov (when term starts) i'm told, so their is nobody there at the moment to help.

And most places were completely full. Had a Thai person call around another 10 apartments, and still nothing. I may have to find a hotel for a few nights till school opens and get some help from them!
