Nakrob
We're in BKK and are due to fly in and out of Don Muang over the next week (25th and 30th) and then out of Suvanbhumi next Sunday. The media is avidly reporting flood news and I've searched this forum extensively but can't find much reference to the likelihood that either airport will stop operating over the next week as a result of the floods. Obviously the Don Muang area is now flooding but not the airport itself I believe. Any thoughts on the chance of this? Just want some piece of mind that we're not going to get standed up country and miss our flight back out of BKK.
Nakrob
Water appeared to be lapping at DM airport this morning but no news on whether its likely to be inundated or not.
jimbeam1
I would say, your best bet would be to phone the airport or your tour operator. Or just relax with peace of mind that the PM is doing all in her power to keep the airports open. jb1
kuma
Nakrob I posted a similar question today in the travel section but so far have not received any replies. Tried calling my airline today but the office is closed for the holiday and the line at the airport is not being answered - so I am still in the dark. I plan to try and get to Phnom Phen (then fly to my transitting country from there) if the regrettable happens - but not sure how to do that in the most efficient way.
