Weeds, lack of pumps hinder flow from city

There are also 1000 boats in the Chao Praya River whose hulls are hindering flow.

If you're referring to the Minister of S & T's 'water-diversion' boats, there are only 500 (allegedly) on the Chao Phraya.

I'd bet most of those boats would have been on the Chao Phraya whether they were pumping water for the Minister or not. And there are probably many more non-participating boats there as well. Do you think it would increase flow if they were all ordered out to the Bay because they're causing flow restrictions?

If you do, you're as deluded as the Minister, IMHO.

Their hulls are hindering flow as much as the propellers are assisting flow.

Would it have been better if the boats that could be moved away from the fast-moving flow (especially those that are not participating in the science experiment), be moved, e.g. onto land or out to the gulf where the flow would be slower? Many thousands of boats and other objects in the river would definitely hinder flow, possibly as much as the weeds.
