mca
The what club? I think judging by its name it is possibly some sort of wife swapping / swingers club for residents of Udo. Maybe Taksins is a member!! . Now, I am at lost.... What the heck are you talking about? I have it on goos authority it was originally called the UTDAFC ( Udon Thani Dogging and Felching Club ). Who told me? No names, no pack drill. You know the score.
Krungbin
... and why didn't she think of ordering more pumps a few weeks ago? Because he will pay, nobody knows how much, and when he will - maybe - be back, he will ask for repayment on his terms... probably!
steveromagnino
Now is not the greatest time to talk of these things as there are more pressing issues. However, something has happened that has seen the army and government find common ground (no SOE needed) and the army move away publically from the Dems (SOE needed), so anything is possible. However, Khwanchai bringing it up now is not exactly appropriate although how much weight Khwanchai carries right now is moot as he has been criticized by most red shirt readers in recent weeks The army are pleased it isn't a SOE; they are smart enough to know they don't particularly want to take responsibility for the flood if possible now, because no one can actually fix it, so whoever ends up managing things will be partly blamed (as is occuring now with the govt) unless they sort of do an ok job (e.g. BMA, Thaiflood, red cross, other NGOs). The point isn't whether it is their choice, they are paid a truck load of cash to have a lot of power to deal with crises such as these. They have to do what they are told. Even as they watch the government do an epic fail (which is what is happening now) If it was a SOE you wouldn't see the civil unrest that is going on now, where people are living in 1.5m of sewerage, and seeing their neighbours not in that same filth, and then tearing down walls or preventing walls being buit. We wouldn't have up to 7.5m people (my estimate, not the government's) stuck in a humanitarian crisis without aid being given to all of them. We would however, have to also accept a true picture of what is going on, and when ever you give up power, there's a chance you don't get it back. In this case, it's now a case of pass the bag of dog poo; who wants to be left holding it when the music stops.....irrespective of that the army and now the US Navy are there standing by to help, but are being held back (and in the case of the Thai army, that's a welcome thing now, because this is well past the point of a doggy bag being able to contain the almighty mess). Whether that strategy proves a winner will ultimately depend on how much difference 8 fish pumps for an aquarium from Korea makes; I am sure it will be a bigger difference than the 1000 ships motoring in the Chao Phraya. It's a bold strategy for the big man, and I am sure his next big gesture will be drop a million tons of something (maybe noodles) to all his constituencies. After all....one needn't follow the letter of the law....when one is a convicted fugitive meddling m&*@#&er. (and the word you are looking for there is muddy funster; in reference to the people who attended woodstock). OzMick
Thaksin buys pumps from Korea for govt Please read the headline carefully. There is nothing to indicate that he is paying for the pumps personally; he could well be acting as the agent for the government, at a reasonable commission of course. Yes, but the Red SHirt propaganda will be that he paid PERSONALLY for the pumps. If he manages to get big pumps from Korea quickly, it will be a miracle. When I worked in O&G Procurement, getting any equipment from S.Korea took ages. I guessed he would be back in December. It is because of his daughter's wedding on the 11th. Prayuth has already publicly stated that there are no Army generals now stupid enough to do a coup.
rubl
Well, He'll be back, maybe..... He has ordered pumps, maybe.... He will trigger another round of political fights, surely....He will trigger a new coup, most certainly... But now GK is going to explain us again that extremely VIP (but will not name them, but we will all be completely amazed) have secretely met with Taksin some times ago, and that all is already arranged.... Anyway, let him come back, and the circus to start again. After all the sh*t that this country has faced, is facing now, that is certainly NOT what it needs.... Now is not the greatest time to talk of these things as there are more pressing issues. There are more pressing issues. Not exactly appropriate of k. Kwanchai. However bla, bla, blablabla. The man called Abhisit who people here assured me after the elections 'THE Thai have spoken, THE Thai don't want him' needs to defend himself for a short holiday break after the son of a fugitive criminal (and nephew of the PM) tweets about the holiday and flight details provided with compliments of k. Nattawut, (Thaksin thinks, Pheu Thai acts) party list MP and UDD leader charged with terrorism. And now k. Kwanchai's remarks are 'not exactly appropriate' Double standards of the idiotic type, IMHO Edited October 25, 2011 by rubl

GazR
If this news about Thaksin the Great Divider returning came from credible scources it would be the worst news Thailand's had all week - quite an ignoble achievement. In this time of great need, I have yet to hear one person say that we need Old Tacky back to get this fixed, but his runaway hubris dictates that he is unable to imagine a recovery for which he wasn't able to at least plausibly claim most of the credit by being here. Obviously, even Thaksin no longer believes he can control things from Dubai. Edited October 25, 2011 by GazR

EyesWideOpen
Many years ago Ted Kennedy drove his car off the bridge in Chappaquiddick , and left Mary Jo Kopechkne to drown in the car. Later on her father gave a press conference. With tears in his eyes, he stared straight at the camera and said that if the death of his daughter prevented Ted Kennedy from becoming president of America , it was worth it. People watching were stunned, and in the end Ted Kennedy did not become president....... So maybe there is a bright spot in the horrible flooding that will cost so many people their lives. And that is that the Shinawatra clan and all the moronic cronies that were appointed to positions of power, will be seen clearly by the Thai people for what they are ,the worst thing to ever happen to Thailand. And hopefully they will be swept away by the anger of the Thai people, or by another coup. Then they will simply become a footnote in history, about how a family can simply take over a country and loot it. I am sure that Thaksin has carefully studied the history of the Perons in Argentina, about how to gain power by throwing money to the peasants......
