I am cancelling my WP with the office in Roi-Et where it was issued. I am now living in Kalasin, waiting for a new W.P. from another school.

My questions are does the letter that I get from the Labor Office to take to immigration have to be done in the same province that it was issued, Amnat Charoen being the office for Roi-Et, or could I take this letter to immigration in Sakhon Nakhon, which looks after the Kalasin area? This being much closer to me.

Could I in fact cancel the WP here in Kalasin as opposed to having to go to the labour office in Roi-Et?

I know that I will need a 7 day extension of my present visa.

Work permits can only be cancelled in the province that they are issued at.

As far as I am aware extensions can only be cancelled in the Immigration office that issued it. This was certainly so about 5 years ago. Maybe someone with more recent experience can help you more on that one.

You appear to be asking two questions and suspect both have the same answer - do at the office issuing. But this is not first hand information as have never done.

You used to have to cancel it at the issuing office, I think that you still do. Don't forget to get the Tor Tor 10 form form the labor office when you cancel it, immigration will want it before they will process any extension. I did one time and had to drive 400 kilos to get it.

Update on previous post. Cancelled my work permit in Roi-Et today, because my Non B is good until March 31, 2012 I did not have to go to Amnat Charoen Immigration, I called them, also submitted my new work permit application here in Kalasin, showing them the receipt for the WP turned in in Roi-Et today. Thanks for your replies.

Amnat Charoen Immigration offices have moved from the police station to the Salagan Complex, for 90 day reporting by mail address to:

Immigration, Salagan Complex, Amnat Charoen. The officer did not know the postal code there. Telephone 045 452 789.

At the same time I asked them for the number at Sakhon Nakhon Immigration, for anyone interested it is 042 715 219
