In December 2011, i will be on the island of Koh Lipe. The morning of 16 December, I should be in Phuket. Question. How do I get to Phuket? Land transport, water transport, air transport?

I would be very grateful for their help in drawing up the route move.

Thank you. When do I need to go to Koh Lipe to be in Phuket in the morning? And if I go by air through Bangkok?

Sorry for my english

I would advise you to fly from Bangkok to Krabi then from there take a minibus to Pak Barra Pier. From there you will get a boat to Koh Lipe.

For the return journey the boat leaves Koh Lipe at 10am and gets into Phi Phi at 1730. Best to spend the night there then get a boat to Phuket the next day. Fly back to Bangkok from Phuket.

Thank you again. I am flying from Bangkok to Hat Yai, then moved to Pak Barra Pier bus or taxi. From there on the boat to Koh Lipe. My question was about something else. How do I plan my route to be in Phuket December 16 in the morning. Proposed an alternative you Koh Lipe - Ko Phi Phi - Phuket interesting to me. I understand that I need to go to Koh Lipe on December 15. Accommodation on Phi Phi and the morning of 16 December to leave the boat to Phuket. Is this correct?

You leave Koh Lipe on the morning of the 15th Dec...stay the night in Phi Phi then take the boat on the morning of the 16th from Phi Phi to Phuket. You should arrive around 11am or so in Phuket on the 16th.

No sure about all of these suggestions to ferry from Lipe and stop in Phi Phi or Lanta then Phuket which will take 7-8hrs at least. Might be a little quicker to take land transport all the way from the pier or fly if you want to be sure to get there on the 16th?

Seems to me some other options are;

1) van from pier to Trang then either bus to Phuket (3-4 a day from Hat Yai and 5 hrs from Trang) or fly to BKK with Nok air at 1:50pm (they have a Koh Lipe boat, van, plane joint ticket also in the high season when they will have 2 flights a day so that 1:50 flight will become a morning a late afternoon).

The Nok joint ticket ferry is with Tigerline (http://www.tigerlinetravel.com/) who also have an 11am Lipe dep for arrival in Phuket at 6pm.

2) van from pier to Hat Yai then fly via BKK with numerous options and times or more unlikely fly direct to Phuket with Happy Air (if they start again in the high season).

The boating most of the way option is fine and scenic if you have the time and you are sure the weather will be good.....

Weather will be fine. Best option in my view...by road on the way down and boat back...as you say beautiful scenery and no repetition. Obviously dependent upon time but...who is pushed for that on holiday? smile.gif
