Looking For Private Tutors In Pattaya

Any pointers on how to find tutors in Pattaya? I'm looking for a few teachers to tutor my 2 daughters (age 8 and 9 following British curriculum Year 2 and Year 5) in a variety of subjects - music (piano, singing, guitar), math,art ,geography/history/science/social studies (not delivered individually but via project work to encompass all).

I have the curriculum material, but now Im looking for some inspiring tutors to deliver the material. I am not interested in academically dry work-book and work sheet orientated teachers. I'd rather tutors with no school experience but a passion and out-of the-box style.

My daughters are homeschooled so day-time and weekday hours are preferred.

I live on the dark Side (near Mabprachan) and all tuition is done at our home.

We spend 4 hours a day 4 days a week for schooling, so am looking for anything from 1 - 4 hour sessions.

Any pointers? Should I advertise in some of the local papers or on the supermarket boards? Anyone do this to any success?

You could try the ajarn dot com website, or advertise in the Pattaya Mail situations vacant.

I've done both in the past when recruiting teachers. You will have to sift through a lot of replies before finding any quality teachers. Normally an advert on either of those will bring about 50 replies of which around 5-7 will be suitable.

You may also try to contact some of the English heads at the local schools (Aksorn, b.e.s.t , Aksorn, Wuttichut )and see if they are interested in passing on your requirements to their teachers who may be interested in a little extra teaching.

Most English teachers teaching in the Pattaya schools are keen to supplement their meagre wages with additional private classes.

I have lived in Pattaya and worked as a teacher for ten years and know a quite a few teachers in the area who may be able to meet some of your requirements.

I work as a private tutor in addition to my main three day a week job but the only subjects out of your list I am qualified to teach and have the material for is maths and English.

I think you will find this to be the case for nearly every teacher in that they could teacher English and maybe one other subject. Indeed I would be highly suspicious of anyone claiming to be able t teach all the subjects you mentioned proficiently.

The local language centrers may be able to help you but it would be expensive. Success Language Center in Sirracha for example charges customers 900 baht per hour plus travel for private tuition and out of that pays the teacher 450 baht per hour. Obviously it's better if you can contact the teacher directly and cut out the language center's margin.

It was the "not delivered individually but via project work to encompass all" statement that made me think that you were looking for one teacher to bring all the subjects together into a combined program.

I can teach maths and English live in Pattaya and am available during the day on Thursdays and Fridays. I would be interested in meeting you and seeing the material you have and maybe having a couple of trial lessons before deciding if it would be feasible for me to teach your daughters on a longer term basis.

I usually teach in Laem Chabang/ Sirracha/ Mathaput area and get paid around B550 an hour. However for private tuition in Pattaya (no travelling) during the day(off peak hours) I would be willing to do it for B350 an hour.

As I've said though it would be best to meet up first, go over the material and maybe a couple of trial lessons to see if it works out.

I am a year13 IB student and I need a math tutor to help me out with the program of year 12 and 13. I might also need help with SAT math. I live in Pattaya.
