midas
Maybe you did not read the article. Assange lost his appeal (again). Of course his lawyers will try to dispute it. That is par for the course. no you are wrong read the news I just did. If something has changed, produce a trustworthy link. In a further twist, however, Mr Assange’s legal counsel Dinah Rose QC told the Supreme Court she would consider making an application to have his appeal reopened as the justices’ ruling contained a legal point which his lawyers did not have a chance to argue during the case. The extradition warrant will be stayed for 14 days until the legal team makes its appeal to the court. The Supreme Court will then decide whether to reopen the case. If that fails, Mr Assange can lodge an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights, which has to respond within 14 days. http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/d6e6f146-aa31-11e1-899d-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1wMk1qaOf
Ulysses G.
As I said, Assange lost his appeal (again). Of course his lawyers will try to dispute it. That is par for the course. "Considering having his appeal reopened" does not change the fact that he lost the appeal.

chuckd
Has Assange been staying in that $10 million mansion all this time? Not a bad life. Yeah and it looks like he hasn't taken a bath in all this time. His attorneys are going to appeal the appeal with the UK Supreme Court and then appeal to the EU. After that they will appeal to somebody/anybody that will listen. In the end, he will go to Sweden to face the investigation. Uh, do any of you Assange apologists know if a US Federal Grand Jury has issued an indictment? You must know something since you are so certain he will be extradited from Sweden to the US. On what charges and where and when was the indictment issued? I await with bated breath your disclosure of the requested information.

Having been a Stratfor subscriber for several years, permit me to tell you Wikileaks sent me an e-mail disguised as an e-mail from the Stratfor web site to try and obtain personal infornation. I didn't take the bait and sent it to Stratfor for their comments. They answered stating it was a fake, rather like the Nigerian bankers scam. Once they steal any e-mails all they have to do is rewrite them to suit whatever their agenda might be. Even without my personal experience dealing with this particular theft by Wikileaks, how could you expect me to possibly believe anything put out by a site with the name of the "WORLD SOCIALIST WEB SITE"? It's not a bad strategy. Rapists and child molesters can create an anti-American blog then if they ever get caught sexually abusing anyone, they can blame it on the American gov't and get million$ in donations from like-minded people around the world. Hmmm, I wish I had thought of it first. Maybe even get your own TV show or elected to office! Edited May 31, 2012 by koheesti

midas
interesting that after this interview with the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa Julian Assange has applied for political asylum in the same country......... " your Wikileaks have made us stronger " " This week, Julian Assange talks to the President of Ecuador, Rafael Correa. Correa is a left wing populist who has changed the face of Ecuador. But unlike his predecessors he holds a Ph.D. in economics. According to US embassy cables, Correa is the most popular President in Ecuador's democratic history. But in 2010 he was taken hostage in an attempted coup d'etat. He blames the coup attempt on corrupt media and has launched a controversial counter-offensive. Correa says the media defines what reforms are possible. Assange tries to figure out is Ecuadorian president justified and what is his vision for Latin America." ! Liar, liar, pants on fire! The operative part of that post is: ".The way some people seem to think,..." Ya, I even heard it on the BBC! They will have plenty of time for the interview. If he flies to the US it will be in a plain white private jet with no tail number. No need to meet a scheduled airliner's departure time. I do find it interesting that Assange would choose to seek refuge anywhere outside of Australia. He is perfectly safe there with zero likelihood he will ever be extradited to the US, even if the US were to ever charge him with a crime and request his extradition. How can he be a leading elected official if he isn't there to do his thing? Conspiracy theorists crack me up.
