Well it will cost 1,900 baht for the 30 day extension of stay but if you arrive Monday there will not be any overstay fee. Best to always do a few days early as you lose nothing.

I went today for a 30 day extension though it's due tomorrow but the office would be closed. I figured I would lose a day of my initial 60 days but instead I got what adds up to 32 days. Is this normal? Oh hand on 30 days in November but that still makes it 31 days so it would seem the 30 day extension goes from the end 0f the 60 days rather than the date I applied. If this is normal then how many days earlier can I apply for the 30 day extension.

That was what I tried to say above - yes it is normal - extension of stay starts at the end of current stay so nothing lost is doing a bit early. Up to a week early should not be a problem but even one year extensions are not allowed more than 30 days early most places so they might question why you need to do so early if more than a week.

How very reasonable. For the information of others. This was at the Samui immigration. Staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Said it would take 30 to 40 minutes and I should go over the road to a small cafe for a drink, has aircon too she also said with a smile. One thing I would advise is picking up the form some time before and filling it in at home as the office is very small and devoid of writing surfaces. There is a table outside but if it is raining then it's of no use. 10/10 otherwise.
