Flood And 90 Check In

Featured Replies

i need to report for my 90day check in next week... the school im working at always did it for me before and is now closed due to the flooding.

1. can i report by myself and if so what documents do i need to show?

2. where can i report

3. the school has given me advice- dont do anything- just come back to school once its all over and they will sort it- but i have a feeling i will need to pay the overstay fine? which could be alot at 500baht per day?

normally the school reports to pathumthani office for me.

thanks for any comments

Overstay is 500 baht per day - not late 90 day reporting so suspect you are talking about 90 day extensions of stay for language study? And yes you may well be hit for overstay if that is the case as immigration has managed to remain open to serve people; and they are as flooded as anyone else.

What is the fine for late reporting? Normally I drive to Chaeng Wattana in less than 10 minutes, now with flooding almost waist deep outside my home, I haven't a clue how to get there. No buses, no taxis and rather too far for boating.

Sorry to go slightly off topic but I'm sure many others are in a similar situation to me. For many years the 90 day reporting rule was never implemented and it would be easy for Immigration to relax the regulation at this difficult time :jap:

Since your message says "the school im working at always did it for me before and is now closed due to the flooding", I am assuming that you have either a Non-o or Non-b visa and work permit and are due for your 90 day report. If that is so, there should be the bottom half of your last report form stapled in your passsport. Since Pathunthani is flooded, I think that they are being processed at Suan Plu, the old immigration office or you can do it by mail. If you report in person, you'll need copies of your passpor ID page, visa or last visa extrension, front and back of your entry/departure card and the original old report form (stapled in your passport) and a completed TM47 (new report form - avaiable at immigration or downloadable from their website). If you want to mail it in you have to do it 7 days in advance. The requirements are on the immigration website - "90 day reporting procedures".

If your extension of stay is actually expiring either for work or going to school (ED visa) you'll need paperwork from the school to process another extension, hard to get if the school is flooded.

The fine for late 90 day reporting is 2,000 baht normally but could be up to 5,000 plus 200 baht per day until paid. My link provides alternative locations for reporting and if your post office is still open that would be another alternative. There has not been any notice of exceptions being allowed.

Thanks Lopburi but the other locations are more or less impossible for me. The nearest Post Office is closed due to heavy flooding and another one js located where there is much flooding but perhaps a little less. A boat would probably take me if it is still open, otherwise I'm stumped. Hence, I'm hoping the floods will recede quickly.
