I'm confident that we aren't sending expensive drones with expensive weaponry to off someone unless there is enough proof the guy is a baddie.

Well I hate to shake your confidence but this is just the latest of many

They at times cannot even discern baddies from goodies & if it were not for this time being soldiers killed

it would not be reported at all.

Yes this was copters this time but it has happened before with Reuters cameramen being killed.

So expensive equipment does not require proof nor guarantee it obviously

It could be an accident, equally it could be due to the fact that the Pakistani intelligence service has such a close collaboration with the Islamist terrorists within Pakistan (whatever they call themselves) that I'd like to know more as to the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Well they better get their stories straight because this morning on the news the US & NATO were apologizing

& saying they take full responsibility for this error.

Reminded me of the old days when Janet Reno was apologizing for torching folks in Texas.

But your right you cant make this stuff up & the other countries better grow some teeth & just kick

the foreign forces out of their countries while they still can.

This has no where good to go no mater how much payola they are giving a select few in governments/countries like

It would certainly not be a big surprise if it was delf-defense and these incidents take a while to investigate.

But a more troubling explanation would be that insurgents in the area were operating under the nose of Pakistani security forces. Many Afghan officials believe Pakistan helps the Taliban with cross-border operations.

Recently the Taliban based in and abetted by Pakistan laid siege to Kabul - The double game Pakistan is engaging in is as you say something you can't make up, little wonder if you hit Pakistani forces in an area you expect to find the Taliban.

If the drone strike had happened just a little earlier they might have caught the Pakistanis before they changed back into their military uniforms from their Taliban ones.
