"Siam Mapped" by Thongchai Winichakul

Interesting discussion of Thai geo-political consciousness, nationhood and national identity. Good insight into current Thai problem areas including the South, non-Thai tribal people and Isaan. Winichakul explores how mapping changed indigenous ideas of territory, sovereignty and boundary and eventually lead to the modern Thai nation.

I got mine at Asia Books.
