Seven Thai Tourists from Bangkok attacked on Pattaya Beach

PATTAYA: -- A late night swim on Pattaya Beach for 7 Thai Tourists from Bangkok turned into a night to forget after they were confronted by 4 men who assaulted and then robbed them. The tourists made their way to Pattaya Police Station to report the incident and explained to Police they were enjoying the sights and sounds of Pattaya Beach in the early hours of Saturday when the four local men confronted them and threatened them physically and verbally. One of the young tourists was slapped across the face and another was kicked in the side of the head after he was pushed onto the sand. During the altercation a Blackberry phone was stolen.

Not so sure. It is getting prevalent that local groups pick fights with a view to rob - and visitors are easier prey.

More likely the locals were giving the girls a hard time to start things off.

Probably a Yellow-Shirt (Bankok) Red-Shirt (chao baan) rumble :(
