Some of the stupidest people I have ever met have been granted the honorific "Doctor" by academia.

I agree with that, but I still do not think that anyone who has accomplished as much as Bachmann is stupid.

no coverage of the Inaugural of the new president

Nonsense.

Thank you for confirming that we can take most of ProThaiExpat's posts with a grain of salt. Or less....whistling.gif

I think Bill O'Reilly does a dam_n fine job discrediting himself, no need for anyone else to do that. :whistling:

I only get to see clips of him when he says something ridiculous, or gets taken to task by some kid or anyone with half a brain. OK, that's pretty much every day.

A lot of people were surprised when Roger Ailes re-upped, until 2013, but when he retires most expect FNC to struggle without his firm hand on the tiller. Maybe Rupert Murdoch will plug in some NOTW reject like Rebekah Brooks?

In general I think most people believe it's fine that FNC has an agenda, I certainly do. But when they claim to be "fair and balanced" they do everyone an injustice.

Their recent treatment, i.e. non-coverage, of Ron Paul, and even Mitt Romney (see Brett Baier's recent interview) shows that it even Republicans too far from the norm are deemed undesireable.

There is coverage of Ron Paul and Mitt Romney multiple times every day. Sorry to disappoint you. :ermm:

NEW YORK — Mitt Romney will be interviewed Dec. 18 on Fox News Sunday, the first time the Republican presidential hopeful has appeared on a Sunday talk show since March 2010.

Hard to define the word stupid. Sarah Palin is one of those 'intellectuals' who believe, despite irrefutable evidence to the contrary, that the world is 6,000 years old. That is a topic that all of the candidates dance around, much like the topic of abortions. Too many religious nutters in the US clinging to their faith for the truth to be accepted by the general population.

The TVARBB (Thai Visa's Anti-Religion Bigotry Brigade) raises it's ugly head for the millionth time...rolleyes.gif Interesting how we have rules against blasting Thais, other countries, ethnic groups, etc. But slurs against some groups, particularly Christians or Americans, seem to stand, for the most part, unchallenged. [Compare: How long would "Thai Buddhist nutters" be allowed to stand unchallenged on this forum? whistling.gif ]

No not bashing Americans/Christians at all. Just those of the Flat Earth Society. If they happen to be American/Canadian/French etc then so be it.

For some strange reason socialists refuse to admit that the system simply doesn't work. Europe is a real time example. All Obama and his loyal followers have to do is to take a look at what the massive entitlement programs do to a country. The best thing we could do would be to educate the politicians how to balance a checkbook.

Fox gives the socialists a pain because the far left hates to hear the truth. Unfortunately the good fairy is NOT going to make the overspending problems go away. Raising taxes just gives the politicians more money to throw away. Huge government bureaucracies must be downsized or totally eliminated along with the czars that are paid huge salaries to further enlarge these useless federal agencies.

Yet somehow the odd European country seems to be doing OK.

Sweden for example - high taxation and unbelievable 'benefits', but is somehow surviving the current crisis.

Meanwhile, the UK which has had to bail out the bankers and, has seen the largest growth between rich and poor over the last few years, is in dire straits with no sign of recovery in sight.

Has anyone else noticed how the deeply religious South (USA) are far more intolerant than everyone else? Reminds me of the Moslems... Edit - sorry, militant Moslems

Fundamentalists of any religion are more intolerant, in general. Absolutely.

Which is probably why the rest of us look at them in horror.

Quite. But it can't be denied that the religious impulse is a part of human nature, so the toxic manifestations of it are something that needs to be managed. While the more enlightened among us don't need religion to know it's wrong to murder and steal, the masses seem to need a higher authority to tell them that, so there are some social benefits to religion.

Yes, a very good description of the mother who put up her unwilling son to do her political bidding.

The young child in the video was in obvious agony, being forced by his political-agenda-driven mother without regard for feelings of her young child who hardly understands the issues. Shame on parents who use their children as fodder in such situations; however typical of a radical who'll spare no one to make their point, even if it's one's own Innocent.

This is the emotional equivalent of a terrorist strapping explosives to their young daughter to be a martyr for the "cause." Instead, we have a tunnel-focused mother who sacrifices her son's personal independence and emotional fragility to her own "cause." Repulsive. bah.gif

I think Bachmann was more shocked at a mother who would put up her child to this, than a reaction to the child's actual statement.

Those who promote this video to make a political point in support of the mother's statement should be equally ashamed to be tacitly agreeing with the radical's method. Disgusting. mad.gif

I'm a Brit and I worked alongside the American forces in Germany for 5 years. I have watched Fox News recently and just like everybody else here it was easy to see how slanted and partisan it is.

I am very disappointed at how partisan the USA has become, you need to remember you are American first and Democratic or Republican second.

Now you are starting to see the problem of electing the Executive and the Legislature separately. what was supposed to a check and balance is now becoming a blood clot heading for the heart of your country.

What happened this year when the country was ran to the edge of insolvency was a national disgrace.

Typically they do their worst in the absence of a blood clot that prevents them from making yet another mess. Give me the blood clot any day. :)

You might be interested to read The New Road to Serfdom: A Letter of Warning to America. Wish more 'Mercuns would read it.

Thanks for the link,

To everyone that includes the terms " left wing " or " right wing " on your posts, please realize all you are doing is exposing your own sets of beliefs at that moment. Now that I've managed to annoy just about everybody let me go on to say that the only wing that counts is the "West Wing ".

If your President can't run the country then what is the point of the Presidential system? The reality of the matter is that the US was downgraded from AAA rating to AA rating for one reason and one reason alone............your eating yourselves alive with stupid partisan politics. The US is getting to the point that it can't be trusted to pass budgets on a timely manner and here is the bitter and twisted reality for all Americans.

Your in debt, and the creditors will soon be kicking in your door.

To make it even worse, one of the primary creditors is China, the country that has set out on a policy of financial system manipulation and control rather than military might. Aha you say, the Chinese are modernizing their army etc therefore theblether ( that 's me by the way ) is wrong wrong wrong!!! Moi? wrong? surely you jest biggrin.gif

Nope, I'm not wrong, the Chinese realized years ago that they would never be able to compete with or beat the US in a conventional war. They realized after watching the Russians pour their economy down a drain for 45 years it was a waste of time and effort, and who would want a war anyway?

So if you can't win via military methods the only other way to go is by financial methods. Hence the Chinese military budget is a fraction of the US, and is just there just for show, however the manipulation of the Yuan has allowed China to build vast dollar reserves which they have sucked out of the American working man, and they then lend the same dollars back to you and charge you interest. Cunning, very cunning.

During the Vietnam War Harold Wilson, the Labour Party Prime Minister refused to allow British troops to fight alongside the US. He was encouraged by many people in the Labour Party to actively condemn US actions. He refused to do that also, saying " You don't kick your creditors on the balls ". ( America having financed the British War effort ).

The US has never been scared of fair competition, in fact your the most competitive nation on Earth. However, Wakey Wakey America!! The Chinese are ripping the p*ss out of you, and it is a deliberate ( manipulated and cheating ) policy. They will very soon have you firmly by the balls.

So what's the solution? Get your President to notify China that they have one year and one day to allow the Yuan to float on the international currency markets. If they do not do so then impose a 100% tariff on every product coming out of China. The US has never been scared of fair competition, in fact your the most competitive nation on Earth.

Walmart will then have to source their goods from other countries, ( one year being plenty of notice to do so ) and wow, maybe even buy some goods from American manufacturers!! ( Who would have thought such a thing possible ).

Right now your like competing packs of hyenas snarling over the corpse, while the Chinese are running away with the gold, so come on..........stand together and get it sorted out!!!

.........................and never mind all this crap about Fox News in Thailand.

Outed? Yes, you have outed yourself as someone that believes in ancient idols in order to justify your own existence.

How do you respond to the irrefutable scientific evidence that the earth is 4.5 billion years old and not 6 thousand years?
