PattayaParent
My laptop speakers have gone all crackly. It's not a sound card problem as the sound is fine through headphones or with the computer plugged into the telly. Is it possible to have the speakers repaired / replaced or is it just too much hassle / cost? Thanks. CharlieH
I wouldnt bother with the hassle, you can buy a set of speakers that will plug into the headphone socket for about 300 baht or less. I actually bought a set with a small base box/amp built in, fantastic sound quality for 500baht.
PattayaParent
^that would be fine if I was using it on a desk or table but I'm usually using it on my lap propped up in bed so the internal speakers are more useful.

I use Logitech speakers which clip on to the top of the laptop. Excellent sound quality.

It's nearly time to replace the laptop anyhow so no point putting more into it really.
astral
This thread just goes to show that you must be specific when asking a question. In the original post there was no mention that speakers were the builtin ones. Go to Tukcom and find a repair shop there. They can probably replace the speakers, or trace the bad connection that causes the crackle.
worgeordie
I had same problem with a tv, just took the speakers out , and put a bead of silicone rubber sealer around them where the diaphragm had come away from frame, and it worked like a charm, but dont know how easy it would be for you to take laptop apart. regards Worgeordie
