Who Is In Charge?

Featured Replies

Who knows about it:

Couple of day ago I've had an accident here in Phuket. two drunken Thai men on their motorbike crashed into mine bike. My leg foot is broken 4 times now.

The driver stays in prison now(191 alcohol), but which person I have to claime for my damages, the driver or the owner from the bike he rode??? What is the legal situation here in Thailand?

May be interesting for you to know: As usual the 've tried to run(drive) away after the accident, but some other Thai people who watched the incident, kept them and took of their key from their bike...........

Thanks for some advice,

Gerd

Good luck getting any money out of the Thai guys. If it were the other way around however you may find yourself being visited regularly by the guys asking you directly for money. Maybe the cops canextract the money minus their tea money !!

The boys in brown acted very fair and friendly, believe it or not.

I just want the money for my hospital bill etc.

My bike is repaired already and paid by some friends from this Thai guy.

I'll try to be fair to them.

The owner is responsible unless the driver stole the bike or signed an agreement agreeing to be responsible,ie a rental agreement
