Rimmer Posted December 20, 2011 Share Posted December 20, 2011 58 people arrested by Pattaya Police in beach clean-up PATTAYA: -- Pattaya Police have decided now is the time to clear the beach of prostitutes and others who shouldn’t be there, in preparation for the Festive season. Pattaya Beach is known to many as “The Coconut Bar”, due to the high numbers of prostitutes who wander the promenade in search of company for the night, however the local authorities would like to change this and in anticipation of families arriving in Pattaya over the coming days to enjoy the festive season, Police conducted a sweep of the beach from North to South Pattaya in the early hours of Tuesday, and rounded up 58 individuals, consisting of 20 transsexuals, 33 women and 5 men who were taken to the Police Station and fined for loitering on the beach. Still at least it clears the area for half an hour or so for all the families using the beach in the middle of the night! It's insane - clearing the beach of prostitutes at 2am to make it "clean" for families.
